Using SARMS, a Selective androgen receptor modulator, has become increasingly popular among bodybuilders and other athletes in recent years due to the muscle growth and fat loss results these supplements offer without side effects on hormone levels or the liver. However, should SARMS be as widely used as they are? Some say that there are some big dangers of using SARMS, but what exactly are they? And how dangerous really are they compared to steroids? Here’s an expert bodybuilder’s perspective on this controversial topic.
What Are SARMs?
Selective androgen receptor modulators (SARMs) are a relatively new type of experimental drug that was created with medical applications in mind. For example, they can be used to help people suffering from muscle-wasting diseases or to restore muscle mass in burn victims. But, as with most drugs, it’s possible for them to fall into the wrong hands. There is some evidence that bodybuilders have begun using these supplements illegally—but is that really such a bad thing? In some cases, it might actually be better than similar illegal products. Let’s take a closer look at why it might be okay if bodybuilders are experimenting with SARMs.
What is safer SARMS or Anabolic Steroids?
If you’re asking if safer means legal, then no; SARMs are not illegal. In fact, in many countries, they’re used for medicinal purposes to help people recover from injuries and illnesses. But that doesn’t mean they’re safe. There is a reason why steroids are banned by nearly every sporting organization in existence—they can cause serious damage to your body and health. The problem with creating a safe version of steroids is that users won’t be as tempted to abuse it because it won’t make them big and bulky or even cause side effects like anabolic steroids do.
Are all Steroids Bad for You?
Many men and women who use steroids believe that all steroids are bad for you, or that they have no benefits. This is not entirely true, as steroids have many legitimate medical uses and can be used in a safe manner to alleviate issues such as cancerous muscle growth, male pattern baldness, and enlarged prostates. However, when it comes to non-medical use of anabolic-androgenic steroids (AAS), there are dangerous side effects that can occur if a person takes too much or doesn’t properly cycle on and off of them. More on the Side Effects of Steroids are below…
A Bodybuilder’s Perspective on the Effects of SARM Use
I’ve been using SARMs for a couple of years now, and I’m a living testament to their effectiveness. In that time, I have cut my body fat by more than 50 percent and won two major bodybuilding competitions. My training regimen hasn’t changed at all, nor has my diet—but adding these drugs to my supplement stack made all of that possible. They’ve helped me break through plateaus in strength training and add lean muscle mass quicker than ever before. Even so, there are many people who don’t approve of these compounds because they aren’t regulated by governing bodies like the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) or similar organizations worldwide.
Conclusion – Is it worth it?
Some people want to use steroids and other drugs in order to look good for themselves, or for others. Steroids are a very dangerous and addictive drug that can cause long-term side effects such as testicular atrophy, increased risk of heart attacks and strokes, severe depression leading to suicide attempts, liver tumors, and cancer, gynecomastia (masculine breast growth), facial hair growth in women (also known as hirsutism), among many other health issues. Steroids may also lower sperm count in men leading to decreased fertility. To sum it up; steroids are bad news! Don’t ever try them because they have no health benefits whatsoever. If you have been using them before then get help now if you want your life back before it is too late!
The Risks
Before you decide to use these drugs, it’s important to consider that they can have some unpleasant side effects. For example, unlike testosterone and other anabolic steroids, SARMs don’t convert into estrogen; as a result, excess estrogen may be produced as a byproduct instead. When used in high doses (which many people do), gynecomastia—the formation of breast tissue in men—can occur. It’s also possible for liver damage to occur when using SARMs. The good news is that many of these side effects can be reversed when stopping usage or reduced with moderation. However, if you think your body is reacting negatively to any particular SARM or supplement, discontinue its use immediately and consult your doctor before resuming anything else.
Anabolic Steroid
There is an enormous amount of misinformation when it comes to anabolic steroids. These are classified as any drug or hormone that promotes muscle growth and physical strength. Popular ones include Anadrol, Dianabol, Decadurabolin (D-bol), Stanozolol, Trenbolone and Winstrol. Regardless of your position regarding their use in sports – whether you think they should be allowed or not – there is no denying that many athletes take them for performance-enhancement purposes. It is for that reason I’m going to keep my stance objective on whether or not these drugs should be legal in sports, but rather focus on my experiences with them from a health perspective.
