RISOFOS 150mg

RISOFOS 150MG is a bisphosphonate medication that is used to treat or prevent osteoporosis (weak and brittle bones) caused by menopause or long-term use of steroids. Paget’s disease of the bones is also treated with RISOFOS 150MG. Osteoporosis is a bone disease that weakens and thins bones by lowering bone density. It is more frequent in women after menopause. Bones become weaker and more likely to break when their density falls.

RISOFOS 150MG contains Risedronic acid, which works by strongly adhering to the bone and inhibiting calcium removal by osteoclasts (a type of bone cells that destroy bone tissue). This keeps the bones healthy and reduces the chance of their breaking by preventing osteoclasts from breaking them down.

Follow your doctor’s instructions for taking RISOFOS 150MG. It is recommended that you continue to use RISOFOS 150MG for as long as your doctor has prescribed it for your medical condition. Headache, nausea, indigestion, stomach pain, cramps or discomfort, constipation, diarrhea, pain in the muscles, joints, or bones, and a sense of fullness or bloating are all possible side effects. The majority of these RISOFOS 150MG side effects do not require medical care and fade away with time. Please visit your doctor if the side effects persist or worsen.

Please inform your doctor if you are allergic to RISOFOS 150MG, sweets, or any other medications. If you are pregnant or breastfeeding, avoid using RISOFOS 150MG and seek medical advice. Because the safety and effectiveness of RISOFOS 150MG have not been proved, it is not recommended for children under the age of 18. If you have hypocalcemia (low calcium levels in the blood) or serious kidney problems, don’t use RISOFOS 150MG. Avoid consuming too much alcohol because it can lead to bone loss. Smoking has been shown to lower bone mineral density and increase the risk of fractures. In some cases, RISOFOS 150MG may induce osteonecrosis of the jaw (ONJ). Consult your doctor and dentist if you have any problems with your teeth or mouth, such as loose teeth, swelling or pain, non-healing sores, or discharge, as these could be indicators of osteonecrosis of the jaw.

RISOFOS 150mg

RISOFOS 150MG’s Applications

Paget’s disease of the bones, osteoporosis

Medicinal Advantages

Risedronate (sodium risedronate) belongs to the bisphosphonate class of drugs. It aids in the preservation of bone strength. Paget’s disease and osteoporosis are treated with RISOFOS 150MG.

Risedronate suppresses the cells that break down bone in osteoporosis. This helps to preserve bone density and strengthens your bones, making them less likely to shatter.

Risedronate is used to treat Paget’s disease of the bones, which causes abnormal bone turnover. This helps to minimize deformity and pain while also strengthening your bones and making them less likely to shatter.

Use Instructions

As directed by your doctor, take RISOFOS 150MG on an empty stomach at least 30 minutes before meal or 2 hours after food. To avoid heartburn, the tablet form of RISOFOS 150MG can be consumed whole with a glass of water while standing up. It should not be broken, crushed, or chewed. After taking RISOFOS 150MG, do not lie down for at least half an hour. RISOFOS 150MG should not be used with milk since it includes calcium, which lowers the effectiveness of RISOFOS 150MG.

Store in a cool, dry location away from direct sunlight.

Drug Recommendations

Please inform your doctor if you are allergic to RISEDRONIC ACID or any other medications. If you are pregnant or breastfeeding, avoid taking RISEDRONIC ACID and seek medical advice. Because the safety and effectiveness of RISEDRONIC ACID have not been proved, it is not recommended for children under the age of 18. If you have hypocalcemia (low calcium levels in the blood) or severe kidney problems, you should avoid using RISEDRONIC ACID. Avoid consuming too much alcohol because it can lead to bone loss. Before taking RISEDRONIC ACID, tell your doctor if you have parathyroid hormone abnormalities, vitamin D deficiency, swelling, numbness, or discomfort in the jaw, a loose tooth, a heavy jaw feeling, or if you have Barrett’s oesophagus (an abnormal alteration in the cells lining the lower oesophagus). Smoking has been shown to lower bone mineral density and increase the risk of fractures. In some cases, RISEDRONIC ACID might induce osteonecrosis of the jaw (ONJ). Consult your doctor and dentist if you have any problems with your teeth or mouth, such as loose teeth, swelling or pain, non-healing sores, or discharge, as these could be indicators of osteonecrosis of the jaw. If you don’t get enough calcium and vitamin D from your diet, your doctor may prescribe supplements.

Interactions Between Drugs

Antacids (magnesium hydroxide, aluminum hydroxide), iron, and calcium supplements may all interact with RISEDRONIC ACID.

Drug-Food Interaction: RISEDRONIC ACID should not be used with milk since it includes calcium, which may diminish the efficiency of RISEDRONIC ACID.

If you have hypocalcemia (low calcium levels in the blood) and severe kidney problems, you should avoid taking RISEDRONIC ACID.

Advice on Diet and Lifestyle

Include dairy items in your diet, such as milk, yoghurt, cheese, and milk-based custard.

Broccoli, cabbage, bok choy (Chinese white cabbage), spinach, and other green leafy vegetables should be consumed on a daily basis.

Snacking on calcium-rich nuts such as Brazil nuts or almonds is a good idea.

Sesame seeds can be sprinkled on food, vegetables, and salads. Calcium is abundant in sesame seeds.

Caffeine, soft drinks, and alcohol, all of which impede calcium absorption, should be avoided or limited.

To get more calcium in your diet, swap out the beef for tofu or tempeh.

Concerns of Patients

Osteoporosis is a bone disease that causes bones to weaken and thin by lowering bone density. Bones become weaker and more likely to break when their density falls. Women after menopause are more likely than males to develop osteoporosis because their ovaries stop generating oestrogen (a female hormone) that is necessary for bone health. Bone loss happens after menopause, making bones fragile and more likely to shatter. Long-term steroid use can also weaken bones and cause osteoporosis in both men and women. Back pain from a broken or collapsed vertebra, loss of height over time, a stooped posture, and a bone that breaks much more easily than predicted are all signs and symptoms.

Paget’s bone disease: In Paget’s disease, bone remodeling (removal of old bone and replacement with new bone material) occurs too quickly, resulting in new bone that is weaker than normal. The bone may grow misshapen, uncomfortable, and break if not addressed.

FAQs

Risedronic acid, found in RISOFOS 150MG, is used to treat osteoporosis and Paget’s disease.

If you have hypocalcemia (low calcium levels in the blood), you should avoid taking RISEDRONIC ACID since it could make your condition worse. However, before beginning treatment with RISEDRONIC ACID, calcium and vitamin D levels should be evaluated.

RISEDRONIC ACID can lead to osteonecrosis (jaw bone deterioration). Maintain good oral hygiene and have frequent dental check-ups while taking RISEDRONIC ACID to avoid this problem. Also, if you use dentures, ensure that they are well fitted. Consult your doctor and dentist if you have any problems with your teeth or mouth, such as loose teeth, swelling or pain, non-healing sores, or discharge, as these could be indicators of osteonecrosis of the jaw.

It is not suggested that you take RISEDRONIC ACID with milk since milk includes calcium, which can diminish the effectiveness of RISEDRONIC ACID. For best effects, take RISEDRONIC ACID 30 minutes before eating with a glass of water.

It is not suggested that you take RISEDRONIC ACID with antacids that include magnesium and aluminum at the same time, since this may diminish the effectiveness of RISEDRONIC ACID. After 30 minutes of taking RISEDRONIC ACID, you may take antacids, calcium, or iron supplements. However, before taking RISEDRONIC ACID with any medications, talk to your doctor.

RISEDRONIC ACID can induce an unique thigh bone fracture in rare cases, especially in people who have been taking it for a long time. Please see a doctor if you have weakness, pain, or discomfort in your thigh, groin, or hip, as these could be early indicators of a thigh bone fracture.
